Research is the backbone of academics. The Research and Development Unit of MKJC was established in the year 2018. The Strategic Research plan of our R&D CELL is to serve as the guidepost for the Institution to reach its full potential in research and scholarly activity. Research simplifies concept building and transforms new ideas into innovations in pursuance of a new era of passion for researches. Each finding gives immense pleasure and multiplies enthusiasm towards achieving goal. The main elements of this planning activity consist of the vision, mission, and goals described below. R&D Cell aims to nurture research culture in the college by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging frontier areas of Engineering, Technology, Science and Humanities.

It encourages the students and faculty to undertake the research in newly emerging frontier areas including multidisciplinary fields. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition, etc.

The college has department-wise research centers in which faculty and students from various institutions in addition to the in-house faculty and students, interested in enhancing their qualifications in their discipline are allowed to discuss on their research plans. Person-to-person guidance is provided through which staff and students are motivated and molded to carry out their research plan in an unhindered manner.

MKJC Research division is primarily focused at bridging the gap between education and research. It is envisaged at inculcating research based activities by articulating ideas that can ignite creativity and innovation among budding researchers in all discipline of science and technology.

OBJECTIVES

To motivate young talents towards research and innovation

To create awareness on research opportunities among the faculty and students

To encourage staff members and students to take up research projects sponsored by governmental bodies such as DBT, DST, AICTE, UGC, etc

To organize workshop, seminars and periodical faculty development training program to improvise the knowledge, skills related to promotion of research

To encourage staff members and students to publish research papers for publishing in National and reputed International Conferences/ Journals

To conduct periodic meetings on current topics in research and its relevance to provide insights into various research activities across the globe

To collaborate academia and research into one sector by extending research activities in the curriculum

To provide regular updates (national and international) on the upcoming or new research schemes, research ventures, research policy by government and private sectors 

MKJC strives to promote research and development programs by giving prior considerations for all activities related to research in order to accelerate the growth of scientific research and innovation among rural and urban sectors. Necessary financial and technical support are provided to aspiring young talents, staff and scholars in their venture of building a research career by fostering the importance of scientific papers and communication.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

The institution has instilled a high qualified research and development committee in addition to state of art technology that facilitates and monitors all progress related to in-house and collaborative research activities. Several training programs are organized that benefit the students, faculties and scholars in developing their practical knowledge and skills that will kindle their research interest into a focused stream for several scientific contributions. Seminars, presentations and scientific discussions are planned at regular intervals that allow the participants to break the barrier of fear and develop presentation skills in a professional manner.

FUNCTIONS OF R&D CELL

Identification of thrust areas of research in each department and motivate the faculty to work towards it

Encourage the faculty to carry out  in-house and collaborative research with other organizations, industries and research centers

Provide guidance for applying and taking up government funded projects

Extending assistance for applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various available funding agencies

Render budgetary planning and identify requirements and resources for funding the research

Plan and execute exchange programs for staff and students with other higher institutions

Review the progress of research and offer necessary guidance whenever required

Ensure proper utilization of seed money for department wise research activities

Identify different organizations/ industries to undertake collaborative research on current topics of mutual interest

Guidance towards research related to product or process deliverable

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF R&D CELL

Arrange and organize Seminars / Conferences / Workshops and training programs for students and faculties

Encourage faculties to register for Ph.D in recognized and reputed institution

Promote interdepartmental research activities and ensure seamless rendering of research outcome

Provide assistance in manuscript writing, research proposal designing and publications of original research findings in peer-reviewed journals

Conducting periodical review of in-house or inter-collegiate or collaborative projects and ensure its completion within the stipulated time

Establish technology incubation centres/ Research centres/ Centres of excellence.

Bring out innovations to promote patent filing

Design and carry out long-term research plans
