About the Department


The department of Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics housed in science block was started in the year 2010. The department was started with the aim of empowering women by inoculating the skills that promotes women’s self-worth, their ability to determine their own choice and their right to influence the social changes for themselves and others. Nutrition and Dietetics is an integrated and a professional program preparing students to work as nutritionists and dieticians, explore how it affects the health of the individual and the nation, and to discover how diet can be used in the treatment of diseases. The department engages the students to improve human health through better nutrition and lifestyle. The department strives to accomplish goal through research aimed at an increased understanding of how diet influences health at molecular and population levels, development of nutritional strategy, informing policy, the education of researchers and practioners and dissemination of nutrition to health professionals and the public.
